The hotel is owned today by Riviera Holdings Corporation. Riviera was the ninth hotel on "the Strip". Over the years, they have had different owners who also can be traced back to the mafia.

Liberace was one of the artists who performed when the hotel opened and many years thereafter.
Riviera hotel and casino was also included in the movie "Oceans Eleven" in the 60s.
